Being 21

I think 21 is a great age- just the right age to do anything. You're not too old and not too young. I was at Greenwood on a Thursday night the other night for a friend's 22nd birthday drinks. (Remember those drunken Berry St Tavern days where we were all still discovering our alcohol limits?). I've always been used to feeling the youngest - at work, in clubs etc. However, for once in my life I felt old! Everyone looked about 16 to me and I felt very very strange there but still danced sillily (yes, i just made up that word) along to the pop music because who cares what high school people think of us. I've been going to the X a lot more and I don't feel too young although the majority of people are older than me.

However, I admit that I'm still quite immature. It was only yesterday that I spent an hour in Big W spying on my cousin who works there and throwing toy balls at him and running off around the store, hiding between the aisles so he wouldn't catch me.

I do think I'm growing old though because I've reached the danger zone of looking down on people who are younger than me and act silly rather than joining in with them. I shouldn't really do that but I think everyone does although we used to be like that. But then you don't want to be the old fart who tries to be young and cool when they really are too old.

Would I wear rabbit ears out anymore? I don't think so. Must be getting old!

  • is that what you do in ur spare time? go to big w and spy on ur cuz?

i personally think 23 would be the perfect age for me... perhaps the guy/girl maturity rate difference?

  • hehe yes! That stuff is fun. Recently I was also dancing in a clothes store with sunnies with the tag still on and a belt around my head while my friend recorded me on his camera! He was worried we would get kicked out but who cares!
