Frangipani & The Floating Circus of Lights

What I remember of Garth Crane was that I used to sit next to him in class until one day after working late on an assignment I said I had to go home and wash my hair before I went to sleep. Garth looked at me incredulously and asked me why. Apparently he has never washed his hair before except when he goes to the hairdressers where they wash it for him. I hadn't had much contact with him ever since.

I knew he was a bit lazy with uni work but I knew he was in a band. And then the other day I was listening to the radio and heard his band get mentioned. And then heard it play again another night. And then I got a few emails about shows. And now an email from Garth about an album being released this Friday.

I like it how people at uni have started taking different directions in life. Come support Garth and the rest of his band (Frangipani & The Floating Circus of Lights) this Friday night at Candy's Apartment in the X (22 Bayswater Rd). They call it North Shore hip hop. I think they all used to be Barker boys... Also listen for them and other great music on FBI 94.5FM. It's good after 6pm on weekdays.

  • The album is a taste of intelligence in the genre of hip hop, rather than that anrgy hatred you hear in a lot of it. There site is a laugh - www.frangipaniband.com. The live show was excellent.
