I see a pattern...

I'm about 2.5 months into my life as being single and looking back at my diary, I have noticed that I've settled down into a routine. It wasn't until a few friends asked me, "Do you ever sleep?!?" that I realised that I have gotten used to going out nearly everyday (except Mondays to watch Desperate Housewives). Usually weeknights are for catching up with friends over dinner or drinks after work and then shopping and then the weekend goes something like this:

Fri 22/7: Went for drinks at Star City with Grandma. She's VIP there so we had free drinks and food & then watched the Kate Cebrano concert in the VIP seats. Grandma is funky- she's won a mini cooper at Star City and she's the type to be waving glowsticks at the front at concerts. Went to meet up with Nick at Oscars & Jason made drinks for me (it's so good having a bartender who knows exactly what kind of drink you want! - "Today I feel happy so a dash of something sweet plus a berry taste please" and he whips up something just for that occasion!). Then went to Home Bar to say hi to Michelle, then Chinese Laundry (yuck... only went cuz was proving to Melbournian & Pom that it's crap), then Pontoon (YUCK), then sat looking at the harbour.

Sat 30/7: Shopping. Then went to Good Bar. Thought I wouldn't know anyone because Jamson told Warren & I to come along but ended up with me knowing a bit too many people there! Major blasts from the past including my first bf's friends and someone I met in HK who happens to be in Australia at a party I was at?? Needed to get away and not used to being in an almost all asian crowd again so went to Tatlers because I was giving Jamson a tour of the X. I can write about Tatlers because it's not so hush hush now. If you walk past, you wouldn't know its a bar because it's away from the main street of Kings Cross & all you see is an iron gate. You ring a doorbell and a girl comes up to look at who you are before admitting you inside. You then go down dark stairs which opens up to an underground bar with Victorian furniture and dim lights. You can buy drugs over the counter & celebrities used to hang out there but it got raided last month. So its not so hidden anymore and has gone commercial. Anyways, we were able to get in cuz Johnny's friend was having a party. Jamson talked to an artist and I talked to Johnny and we both talked to a rapper? We then left to go to YU where I danced the night away. Jamson did a good job of keeping up for a guy! I then drove home.

Sun 31/7: Met up with Para who has come back from Denmark. Went walking around the city, asking builders why they were building a pool in the middle of Martin Place, walking through a scene shot for some Chinese TV show, looked at art at the Museum of Contemporary Art, & then talked about relationships and life at McDonalds.

The week after...

Fri 5/8: After work drinks at Uber bar. Tried a Mango beer-yum! Craig put me on the door to Sapphire Suite so went there. Bouncer told me I had to pay although I was on the door so I got pissed off and called Craig. Craig came out with someone who told the bouncer to let me in. I then told the guy that the bouncers are bastards and the club is crap. Later on that night I realised I said that to the organiser of the club-oops! I apologised and he gave me his card and said I can get on the door whenever I like. Yay! Was very crowded and the club wasn't crap that night at all and luckily was sitting in the VIP area with a model agent, actor/psychic, DJ, and a Pom. Then I saw the Oscars bartender boys and danced with them! Left thongs in Terrys car when he gave me a lift to the station.

Sat 6/8: Had coffee with Johnny in the arvo & he gave me some Dragonfly memberships. Then met up with Craig for dinner at Bondi. Then met up with Cindy & Para at Oscars plus Nick and his Melbournian friend came along. Craig the psychic told me that Cindy is a player and likes twisting nipples. Hmm.. Went to Dragonfly and fended off a tranny trying to dance with Para & then went to Nick's place to watch cable TV cuz wasn't tired. (Coffee really affects me!). Then went home and read Harry Potter until 5am cuz coffee still kept me up! Didn't get to meet up with Johnny who was at Megan Gale's 30th birthday party at the Hilton cuz he was tired so didn't get to meet the beautiful supermodel!

Sun 7/8: Went to Beauty Expo at Darling Harbour for work (Unilever owns Dove, Sunsilk etc so useful to go these things). Walked around Darling Harbour enjoying the sun and listening to ipod at same time. Went to Oscars to pick up my shoes that I had left in Terrys car & met Jeff's wife and child(1/4 Italian, 1/2 Somoan, 1/4 white-beautiful kid!) and then met up with Ben for coffee who's come back from Geneva. Went to GPK to eat with family.

Hmm... sorry this post is quite longwinded. It doesn't sound like I went out too much when I re-read it but I guess boyfriend time has been replaced by many other things. I'll leave you with a photo which I call 'Multicuturalism'.

Multiculturalism (black, half asian, asian, & white)

Elliot & me at Sounds on Sunday at Greenwood a few weeks ago. It was very pleasant meeting up on a Sunday arvo & giving each other a debrief of our weekends over a beer. We then got Thai takeaway and ate at McMahons Point overlooking beautiful Sydney harbour- lovely! Then we went back to Sounds to dance off what we ate. Then went home and slept for work the next day. I love catching up with friends like Elliot!
