Free Events!

Last week I went to the Earthdance Festival for Peace. I was worried that it would be full of hippies but it was really good! And I can't believe it was for free! It was better than Parklife and other events I've been to where you have to pay $90 for.

There were 5 stages of music and one of the stages was on top of a hill. It had a plane where the DJs played inside it. Mon, Chris and I were dancing crazily to drum n bass when a bear ran up a hill. It was a funny looking bear so we took a photo of it. We all agreed that we had the best time there- the weather was great, the music was amazing! Best event I've been to this year.

These photos are from the Portable Film Festival Launch (Kat&Bex, Bec&me, Bec&Dave, and last photo is of Mon with Nick and Phil from the band 'Shaky Hands'. We went to Spectrum with and they were fun dancers. But that was $8 ;)

PS. Thanks Ashley for letting me put up some of the photos you took. Ashley is a photographer for inthemix, and I bump into him at a lot of events. Everytime I bump into him at a party, it makes me think - do i go out too much??

Am I old or young?

Yesterday when I was at the dentist and getting another filling (who gets them at my age??), it hit me that I sometimes act quite young for my age. He was telling me not to eat so many lollies, had to dig it out of me how many lollies I eat a day and after I confessed and said its quite shameful for a 22 year old to be eating so many lollies like a kid, he said don't worry, he's sure that I'll eat less when I grow up and am 23 years old. But i didnt tell him that im going to be 23 in less than 2 months...

When he was drilling my teeth, I thought about whether I'm getting old or act immature for my age. I had a think and some of the things I do aren't normal for my age? Like trying to leave work at 3pm every Friday so that I can watch cartoons on ABC whilst curled up in my bed or getting really excited when Katrina gave me her Hungry Jacks kids meal toy which actually cheered me out of a down mood? (A fast food toy cheered me up???)

So I'm still young... right? Lately I've been feeling like a Grandma because I scoff at P platers that cut in before me and shake my head at 18 year old boys that prance around in clubs in bright pink tsubis and headbands. But I should have a look at myself cuz I don't act that mature either!

Proof that I've been featured in the Art Gallery!

Para found these images online and I thought I'd post them up to prove that Para and I have been featured as art before. Anneke painted these paintings of us in 2001 which ended up in the front of the city David Jones window, the Art Gallery, HSC booklets and more! Anneke made us famous.

These are the paintings... for those who don't recognise me- I'm in yellow!

"Colour Blind "
Artist's Comments: “The basis for this group of paintings is how we see others and ourselves. The vibrant colours represent what I see as defining characteristics of my friends as individuals and as a group. But is this who they really are or am I blind to other aspects of their personalities? Still searching for definition, how do I see myself and am I blind to my own colour?”
