Bye Steph!

I should be used to it. Many friends have gone away for a year on exchange or to work overseas. But I always feel sad when someone goes. A uni friend, Stephanie is going to Indonesia to learn the ropes of her Dad's business and perhaps run it someday. I'm going to miss nights like last Thursday that I share with her. And the bad thing is that Chris is leaving later too to go on exchange in Chile!

Thursday night started with me seeing an Indian guy lying dead at the entrance of a convenience store at Taylors Square. After staring for a few seconds, I realised he wasn't dead and moved onto Kinselas. Steph, Elaine, Chris and I met up there with Chris's friend Johnny. I found out that he's Megan Gale's personal trainer. I was very excited because I thought maybe I could get trained too and look like Megan Gale. It was only later during the night when I sobered down that I realised that there was no way he can make me look like her!

We then went to a 30th birthday party at the new The Eastern at Bondi. A little tipsy by then, we made the taxi driver drive all of 5 of us because we claimed we were very little people. Below is a tipsy Chris hiding on the taxi floor. We felt pretty young in comparison there so bought a bottle of champagne to share and then headed to the city.

At Hotel Chambers, the DJ offered us a job to dance at Candys Apartment because they needed asian chicks for some Hong Kong DJ coming to Australia. We thought that was all cool until he added we needed to be wearing little shorts and dance on the podium. Hmm... After that we went to Funktrust to boogey one last time.

Bye Steph! Good luck with everything and make sure you come back often to visit us!

I've Graduated!

Structure leads to happiness?

I was talking to Danny a few weeks ago about how my life seemed a bit empty. I would go out, go shopping, come home and those everyday things I did didn't seem to have the same happiness I had before. He told me some statistic about people being more happy when they have structure in their lives (me being on holidays for a long time and all).

The first week of work was good except for feeling very small since I'm the youngest person in the company and feeling inexperienced because all the Marketing managers were so incredibly smart. However, I enjoyed my weekend a lot more because I knew weekends are rare for a person working full time. I wrote a post about fearing myself getting old and boring but I don't think I have to be scared of that.

I went to Sublime which is the youngest thing you can do. I actually had a pretty good time and treasured the experience a lot more. When I went to school, afternoon teas and watching Sesame Street were a luxury and something I looked forward to everyday. To me, if I have a lot of spare time, although I want all the time in the world, I'm less happier.

So the youth in me hasn't died yet and I'm not feeling forced to grow up. Working full time isn't too bad afterall.

Happy 2.5 years!

It was me and Danny's 2.5 year anniversary last Saturday. We spent a nice day together in the city and then he took me to Tiffanys to choose something. I chose a ring but they are ordering a smaller size because my left hand fingers are skinnier than my right hand ones.

That led me to think about other bits of my body. This summer I have done no exercise at all because its too hot. It may sound weird to most people but that means I can wear skirts. But when I do jog, I wear jeans because my muscles have gone bigger. I have a problem with putting on muscle. I already have genetically inherited bigger than usual biceps. But whenever I do the smallest amount of exercise, that part of the body would grow. I gained 7kg in Year 9 from starting Athletics. I just realised that I've gone off topic and have somehow made a pleasant topic disgusting. I'll put a nice photo to make up for it.
